Hammersmith and Fulham Council are right behind the push to bring high speed rail to the borough, reacting to the overwhelmingly positive reaction from local people to the proposal from the Department for Transport (DfT).
“We’re doing all we can to ensure Old Oak gets the High Speed Rail station so that much needed investment can be brought into this neglected corner of the borough,” said Cllr Mark Loveday, H&F Council Cabinet Member for Strategy.
This includes a series of roadshows at which you can find out more about the benefits of High Speed Rail and what it could mean for Hammersmith and Fulham. Come along and find out more at:
Shepherds Bush Green, Tuesday 24 May, 11am-2pm
Lyric Square in Hammersmith, Wednesday 25 May, 11am-2pm
Jerdan Place in Fulham, Thursday 26 May, 11am-2pm.
Estimates of the impact of the station put the likely number of jobs created in west London at around 20,000, with capacity for 10,000 new homes and significant opportunities for new businesses.
